Braithwaito applied to transfer Section 46, Block VII," Tararua, to P. E. Kriyvett and T. S. R. Schaw —Approved under certain considerations. Mr." T. A. Lewis, lessee of Section 37, Blocks A'U and VIII, Mangawhevo, applied to transfer his interest to Mr. G, A. M'Dougall.—lt was resolved to approve tho transfsr. Mr. AV. Gingers applied to transfer his interest in Section 11, Ohakunp V.S., to Mr. T. Harbrow.—Transfer approved on account of ill-health. Mr'. AV. 11. .Fpllett. applied to transfer his interest in Section 5", "Block XA'I, Kaitieke, to Mr. A. ■-, F. Chamberlain.—Approved. , ; Mr. J. A. Y. Lammas applied to transfer to Mr. C. N. Robertson his interest in Section 8, Block XIII, Htiaiigarua, Dyer Settlement.—Mr. Gawithv Jlr. Robertson, and Mr. Lammas attended. It was resolved to approve of a transfer after the expiry of the first five years of the lease if the proposed transfer is then eligible. . Mr. Robinson; sen., attended and-asked the board to reconsider Uie application by Mr. E. C. Allen to transfer the leases of Sections 2a and 3a, Block XIII, Ngamatea, 105 acres 2 roods, and 730 acres respectively, to Mr. F. Robinson, which was refused by the board at the previous meeting on account of family aggregation of areas.—lt was resolved to approve the application, after evidence had been heard. Mr. H. ,1. Higgie applied to transfer bis interest in Section 17, Taihnpe A 7 .S.', 'to C. E. Cuff.—Postponed for further particulars. Mr. G. Prime annlicd to transfer his lease'of Section 73", Taihape' V.S., to AV. D.' Carson.—lt was resolved to decline the application as the proposed transferee is.not eligible. Mr. Prime, however,-at-tended aud asked if his wife could hold. It was resolved to approve tho transfer to Mrs. Carson, provided she was eligible. Mr. Paul Collver implied to, transfer his license of Section 8", Block XIV, Kaitieke, to C. Atkinson. Air. Putnam attended.—lt was resolved to leave the matter in the hands of the Commissioner.. ':: Mr. P. J. Murnhy applied to transfer his share in the licensa of Sections 'Part 3 and 4, Block XIII, Owhango r ; 7, Block Xl\ r , Ataungakarctu; and 3, 4, and 5, Block VII, Jlaungakaretu, to his sons, T. J. and P. A. Murphy. Air. Murphy attended.—The Commissioner moved that,consideration be-postponed until Air. Murphy and Mr. Carlson came into possession. This was carried. Mr. P. R. Dunn applied for. permission to sell a quarter-acfe. of his Seciton 23, Manunui A'.S., to the Church of England for a church site;— Consideration postponed. Mr. J. Kiunaird applied for further time in which to do the reouired improvements on his Section 1, Block VIII. Rangataua Township.—lt was resolved that it he cannot comply with the conditions of his lease he should anply for permission to surrender. ' Mrs. Agnes Olsen asked for, an extension of time to do the rc-ouired improvements on Section 47, Ohakune V.S., 10 acres,— To obtain, a report from the ranger. ,Mrs. B. L: Ormo applied to surrender her interest in Section 2, Block XII, ■AA r hirinaki, 611 acres.—Postponed. Mrs. S. E. Petersen applied for permission to let her house" on Section 4. Block 11, Rangataua Township—Granted from, week to week. Air. C. J.Coyle wrote with reference to Ins non-residence on Section G, Block VII, Rangataua Township—No'action in the meantime.. Mr. J. Hewitt, lessee of Section 23, Block I, Kakahi V.S., wrote with reference to his non-residence—No action to bo taken. Air. L. Daws applied for permission to abandon Section 13, Block 11, Rangataua lownship.—Approved. . A report was received from the C.L.R. in reiercnce to Mrs. 'C. Fisher's noncompliance with the residential and improvement conditions of her lease of Sections 7 and 8, Ohakune V.S., and it was resolved to call upon her to show cause why her interest should not be forfeited. Mr.-A. A. Larseu wrote with reference io his non-compliance with the residential and improvement conditions of his lease of Sections 11 and 12, Block XIX Onakuue V.S., and it was resolved to ask Mr. Larseu-to show cause .why his interest should not be forfeited owing to nonresidence. Mr, AV. M.. Archibald wrote with reference to his residence on Section 9, Block A. yvaiopehu, stating that ' his family lived on the place, but that his wife being in ill-health, lived in Levin—Resolved that he must reside within six month*. Mr. ■&. A. M'Donald stated that the best ho can do is to reside at week-ends until he is in .a. position-to devote the whole of his time to the section. —It was resolved, that as he has had every opportunity to comply, he must do so or forleit. Mr..AVm. Gillies wrote with reference to.his non-residence on Section 17, Block I. Lmutoi, stating that he has to leave the section occasionally to go out bushlelling. and shearing.— Explanation accepted. Mr. D. Robertson as a village homestead on renewable lease under Section 138 of the Land Act, 1908, at a rental of £$ 10s. per annum.

It was resolved to recommend that Section 13, Block VII, Rangataua Township, he granted to the Unman Catholic Church as a site for a church under Section HO of Ihn Land Act, 1808, at the un.'et price of £10. It was resolved io decline, t lip application from Mr. W. Fitzgerald for a liccn>o to split silver pine for sleepers on Crown lands along railway line between Horopito West and Erua Township. Mr. C. Hutlon, ltssee of Sections 37 and 38, Torero V.S., applied to sublet to Mr. George Taylor.—lt. was resolved lo approve the application. With regard to application for additional land from Mr. C. E. Robbie, io whom the Land Board in August, 1910. resolved to allot an additional area, it was resolved to let him apply for Section 8. Block VIII, I'uketoi, 200 acres, on renewable lease at a price to bo fixed by the Commissioner under Section 138 of tho Land Act. A plan showing proposed road exchange through Section 3, Longbush Settlement, aiid 40, Blocks VII and VIII. Huangarua S.D., having been submitted to the board by tho Wairarapa South County Council for their consent to the proposed exchange, it was resolved that the necessary consent bo'given. A plan showing nronosed road deviation in Section 4, Blocks VIII and XII, Rotanikc, and 3 ond 1, Block V. TCaitieke, having been submitted to the' board for its consent, it was resolved that the necessary consent thereto be given. A plan showing proposed exchange of roads through Sections 31, 35, 37, and 43. Block X, Kaitawa. having been submitted lo the board by the Hutt County Council for their consent fo the niWosed exchange, it was resolved that the necessary consent thereto bo given. A tracing showing proposed oxchonce of land for road fronting Sections 100 and 101 was submitted to the. board for its consent to the proposal.—Resolved that the necessary consent be given. OTHER MATTERS. The Featherston County Council applied for permission to expend thirds accrued on Section 3, Block VI, Waibhine, on clearing and formation of 80 chains of Gft. track .it 2Gs. per chain instead of 40 chains of- 9ft. track, as previously approved.—The board approved the application. Tho Whenuakura-Wailotnra Road Board submitted proposals' for the expenditure of thirds accrued to October 31, 1910. The ranger's report being fnvourablo the board approved the proposals. Amount approved .£7 Gs. Gd. The Akitio County Council submitted proposals for tho expenditure of thirds accrued to October 31, 1010. The ranger's report, being favourable the board approved tho proposals, the amount approved'being .£375 2s. lod. Mr. J. S. Lacy, licensee of Section' 1, Block XI, Retaruke, wrote slating that he had suffered heavy loss through bush Ctes and asked for financial aid for rograssing, and also asking for remission of rent.—Postponed by request. The Featherston County Council applied for permission to take metal from certain sections for the Wangaehu Road to the Table Flats Settlement.—lt was resolved tn inform the'council that the board had no objection, provided the law was complied with. It was resolved, with regard to the petitions received from various settlers in the North and South Waimarino Blocks, and particularly in the Kaitieko and Retaruke districts, that special legislation be introduced, with tho special recommendation of the board in each case, giving tho Governor power to grant relief in certain cases either by making Section 127 of the Land Act, 1908, apply io lands subsequently to their being opened or by a modification of the principle of. tho Land Act, and anthorisini? tho Commissioner to roughly draft a Bill embodying the proposed legislation. With reference to an application by the New Zealand Powell Wood Process Company, Ltd., for the right to mill timber on 1000 acres, iivßlock 11, Karori. held over from a previous meeting, the board resolved to.empower the Commissioner to issue licenses for the whole or portion of the area applied for after an appraisement has been made. With reference to Messrs.
