ANNUAL PICNIC.
Although the early morning yesterday did not appear very promising, the weather held off and the day turned out lo be a glorious one for the annual picnic of the employees of Messrs. Sargood, Son, and E'.vcn. The outing took place at Day's Bay. A very large number of people took advantage of the trip, and one and all appeared to have a good time. Sports and games for the children were indulged in, Mr. M. Sargood showing great, interest in the welfare of the little ones. The following dirocfors were present, and acted as judges:—Messrs. T. Finlayson, D. Ewen, 11. C. Tewsley, and M. Sargcod. At the conclusion of tho picnic Air. Sargood presented tho prizes to the successful competitors. Air. F. Green won Iho Sargood Handicap, and Mr. 31. Callaway was second. Mr. Sargood acted as captain of one of the l.ug-of-war teams, and this competition was won by the "I" department.
