The Waihi Goldmining Company's return for the four-weekly period ended March 18 is £69,258 from 30.365 tons. The total output of the mine to date (corrected) is £9,255,388. The manager of the Saion mine reports for the week ended March 25 that the contractors extended the crostcut r.t tho ICOOft. i level a further 20ft., making a total of 87ft. I since passing tho May Queen boundary. The country in the face at present is much firmer than was the case for tho previous •',oft. driven. The putting in of the 25in. ailpipes is boing proceeded with,' and it is honed to have tho work finished by the end of this week., The Dominion Consolidated Developing Company, recently formed in Wellington to work a series of claims in the Wakamarina district.. A.12-stamp battery, complete with Bedans. has been erected, i ample water supply has been obtained, and there is an abundance of limber on the property for mining purposes. So far about £200 worth of gold has been won by, running the battery by a small supply of water. Mr. James Thomas, of Auckland, has been appointed mine manager.
