Wedding at the Basilica. Yesterday, at the Basilica, Hill Street, tho marriage was celebrated of Miss Bessie Greville, daughter of Mr. F. W. B. Greville, of Wellington, to Mr. Buckley, also of Wellington. Tho Rev. Father Peoples performed tho ceremony. The bride, wh"o was given away by Tier father, wore h pretty frock of cream mousseline de soie, finished with cream silk cord and buttons. With this was the customary veil and wreath of orange-blossoms,-aud she-carried a very lovely shower bouquet. Miss Aineo Greville, Miss N. Buckley (sister of the bridegroom), and Miss Doris Greville, were bridesmaids, the two former wearing frocks of apricot charmeuse, veiled with fisher net, and carrying bouquets '6f cactus dahlias, and the third bridesmaid a frock of cream moussoline Tie soie, trimmed with silk lace, and, carrying a bouquet of white flowers. All wore pretty open-work caps to match their dresses. Mr. T. -Buckley- (Waimate), brother- of the bridegroom, was the best-man, and Mr. Robert Mead Edmond acted-as groomsman. A very larzo number. of guests were present in tho Basilica during tho, ceremony, and as the bridal party walked down the aisle tho "Wedding March" was played by Mrs. Lamble. A reception was afterwards held at tlie residence of the bride's parents, arid a largo number of friends were also entertained, in. tho .evening. .. Tho .bouquets ■were the'work of Miss Murray. Wedding at St, John's. A quiet but pretty wedding , was celebrated in iSt. John's Church, Wellington, yesterday .'afternoon, when Miss Annie M'Leayi daughter of Mr. D. M'Leay, ■of Wellingtofi,""was married to Mr.'Henry Watts, youngest son- of Mr. E. Watte, of. Ot'ane, Hawked Bay. The bride wore a -handsom6 ; dress of white satin- with pearl trimming, and the usual veil and wreath, of o'rahge .blossom. She carried'ft bouquet of pink roses and autumn foliage.- 'MiSs Ruie M'Leay (sister of tho'.: bride). and Iliss Kathleen Baskiville atteilded.Ji.er' as bridesmaids,- both wearing pretty cream .frocks with picture hats. -. They also carried-shower bouquets of pink flowers and maidenhair fern. Mr. H. G. Travers acted as : best man, and Mr. C. '■ ■ Mrs. Salmond was 'the hostess yesterday afternoon at a small and very enjoyable tea given for' 1 the Misses Turner, who are leaving veryi shortly for England. Seasonable flowers decorated the rooms* and tea. was served in the library. Mrs; Salmond wore an amethyst frock trimmed with Oriental insertion. In addition to the guests of honour, there were present Mrs. L. Reid, Mrs. Newman, - .Mrs. _F. Samuel, Mrs. Jameson, Mrs. Ross. Mrs. Corliss, Mrs. Pftnsonby, Mrs. Tennant, and Mrs.-A.' Young. W.C.T.U. Convention. -Friday . afternoon session at the W.C.-TVU. Convention was devoted to reports On", different departments. Miss Powell, - late organiser, reported a num- . ber.of hew: unions formed during ;the year. The. corresponding secretary reported the Membership as 2GGB as against 2113 last year. The union's evangelistic work was also reviewed by the conference. During the session the Rev. Mr. Liddle, late of Ashburtoi, visited the convention,) and . gave "an encouraging. address. He emphasised the benefit which he said had been derived since No-License had been carried in Asliburton in spite of all that .had been said to the contrary. Saturday morning was occupied in dealing with tho New Zealand Treasurer's report and bol-ancS-sheet.' Mrs. 1 .Oldham was heartily congratulated on the "White Ribbon" report and : was unanimously re-elected editor. The paper is to bo increased in size. As previously mentioned by telegraphic . message Sister Nellio gave a graphic, account of work among the Taranaki 'Maoris. In the afternoon the delegates were taken to Mr.. Sole's lovely gardens at Aotcs. and subsequently. had tea in the Recreation Grounds,. New Plymouth. - — .... A Welcoming "At. Ho/ne.". ■ It is a very, kindly act on the part of the students of' Victoria' College to hold an, "at home" for the,purpose, of - welcoming. the incoming students,' many'of'whom are often; quite unknown to those already attending ; tho'college. A great many- . were'present at the gathering, which was held in the college gymnasium yesterday, and a most enjoyable time was spent with songs and various competitions. Afternoon tea, at which most of the cakeswere home-made, was gieatly appreciated. Altogether it was a very pleasant afternoon, and did touch to do away with the strangeness which is sometimes rather overpowering to girls just commencing college life.

Rathbohe, with Mrs. Rathbone and family, motored through from Dannovirke to Wellington, leaving Dannevirke "on Mondaj-. - Dr. and Mrs. Truby King,'who have' been staying for some days in.
