LIVE STOCK SALES.

Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report holding their usual sale at Waikanae yesterday. The report states:—We had a medium yarding of both sheep and cattle, and report a total clearance of all stock under the hammer. Bidding was spirited throughout, and we quote the following prices:— Two-tooth ewes, 14s. 10d.; fat wethers. 14s. lid.; shorn lambs, Bs. 3d.: aged owes, 4s. lOd. Cattle: Mixed weaners, 3Us. 6d,; cows in .milk, £4 10s. Messrs. Dalgety and Co. report:—At our Marton sale yesterday only a small entry of sheep and cattle came forward. Potter ewes, to 2s. 9d.; medium lambs, to 65.; dairy heifers, to £6. Messrs. Abraham and. Williams, Ltd., report:—At Waikanae , yesterday wo had a small yarding of sheep, and a good yarding of cattle. Sheep were dull of sale, but cattle sold exceptionally well, ovcry lot changing hands at the following quotations:—2 j to 3-year steers, £5 10s.; 2i-year steers, £5; 18-month steers, £4; forward cows, £4 to £4 55.; fat cows, £4 165.. £4 175., £5 ss. to £5 125.; lieifers in calf, £4 2s. 6d.;..forward heifers, £4 Is.; 18-month Hol'stein heifers, £3 45.; 15-month Jersey heifers, £2 17s. 6d.; 15-month Ayrshire heifers, £2 165.; 15-month , shorthorn heifers, £3 2s. 6d.; wcaner steers, 28s. 6d.; 4-tooth ewes, 12s. 6(1.; mixed 2-tooth do., 125.; forward ewes, 75.; store ewes, 3s. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report as under on their Waikanae 6ale held yosterday :—We> had pood yarding of sheep, and a small, entry of cattle. A better tone prevailed in the market than of late, thcro being good competition for all classes of both sheep and cattle, and, with the exception of one pen of sheep, everything changed hands at satisfactory prices. Quotations:—Two-tooth owes (small), 10a. 7d.; mixed aged ewes, 6s. 6d., Bs. 3d., Bs. Bd.; two and four-tooth wethers, 125.; forward store cows, £3 los.; weaners, 225. to 375. 6d.
