Northerly winds have prevailed, moderate to strong northward of.New Plymouth and Castlepoint, but strong to gale in parts elsewhere. Tho weather lias been showery on tho AVest Coast and southernmost districts of the South Island. Present indications aro for northerly and westerly winds, strong to a heavy gale. Unsettled and cloudy weather will probably bo followed by heavy rain, especially 011 the West Coast. Tho barometer will probably fall everywhere, but a rise may bo expected in the south after about 36 hours, when a southerly change is probable. 1). C. HATES.
