CARTERTON NEWS.
Harvest thanksgiving services in connection with St. Mark's Church were held on Sunday, and were well attended. The interior of the church was decorated,. and appropriate hymns were rendered by the choir. The Kev. E. Young, vicar, officiated in the morning, and the Kev. A. T. B. Page, of Greytown, in the evening. The continued fine weather is assisting the progress of the erection of tho Eoman Catholic Presbytery at Carterton. Mr. A. R. Wallis is the contractor for the work. The Rev. Father Bowo is _ recovering from his recent accident—a kick from a horse. On Sunday the service at St. Mary's Church was conducted by tho Eov. Father Bouzaid.. The total amount received for tho public swimming baths in Carterton is .£313 15s. Sd. The. baths will, shortly be closed for the season. Mr. J. Clayfer lias presented a football to the Carterton Football Club, and ono to the Dalefield Club. Harvest services in connection with the Dalefield Methodist Church ara to take place on Sunday.
