Seventeen O'Bricnites were sentenced tc six months' imprisonment crcli at the Cork Assi&ea for rioting and assaulting tho polieo during a meeting of Redmondites in August last. A riot took place tit Bantry, Countj Cork, on Sunday, August H, during a demonstration on behalf of the Irish Parliamentary party. The police and the party followers were stoned by Mr, William O'Brien's supporters, and in a baton charge by tlie police several people were injured, including: a district inspector of police and ft head constable.
