LIVE STOCK SALES.

Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having held their weekly sale at EKctahuua yesterday. We offered a good yarding of both sheep and cattle to a fair attendance of buyers. Sheep of good iiuality sold well, but poorer sorts wero neglected, although vendors in most cases lowered their reserves. We eventually mado a clearance before the end of the day. We quote:—Sheep: Two-tooth wethers, 9s. 10d., Its. 3d., 10s. bt 1 .., to lis.; two-tooth ewes (poor), Bs., Bs. (id., to 9s. 5d.; better sorts, up to 12s. 5d.; aged ewes, 4s. 9d., ss. 4d„ (is. 7d„ to 9s. 10d.; small cull lambs, 4s. Cd„ 4s. Sd., to ss. 2d. Cattle: Fat and forward cows, £3 17s. to £4 55.; 15-month steers, £3 45.: weaners (mixed), 21s. to 235. 6d. Messrs. Ilalgety and Co., Ltd., report holding their stoik sale at Levin yesterday. Tiiev yarded 30S0 sheep, besides cattle. In spito of the dry weather sheep sold well, and the firm quitted (with the exception of about IC-3 lambs) everything under the hammer. The Government Stale Farm and Mr. J. R. M'Donald penned some very tine fat ewes and wethers, which were well competed for, and sold at prices ranging from 13s. to 15s. lid. There was a large attendance of buyers, and practically all slieep changed hands, but most of the cattle were turned out unsold. A heavy yarding of sheep, and a good entry of cattle were submitted to a small attendance of buyers. Competition for sheen was dull, but wc cleared all cattle. (Feilding branch) report for the week ended March 25 as follows:— At liangiwahia, oa Wednesday, eliccp camc forward in good numbers, but few cattle came in. In consequence of tho continual dry weather the demand was slack, with the exception of young sheep.
