Advices from Rhodesia state that an attempt has been made on the life ofLowanika, the paramount chief cf Barotsoland. The Administrator minimises the incident, but admits that some of tho Indunas endeavoured to depose Lewanika. Fifty men of tho Barotse police, with a Maxim, have been sent to Lesheke, ono hundred miles out from Livingstone.
