Regarding the statement that 165 negroes, bound for Alberta, were refused' admittance, and that it was feared they would drift into the cities, it now transpires that they were only detained pending inquiries as to whether the Canadian immigration laws do or do not discriminate against negroes. The United States' State Department has sent an official to Ottawa to socuro to immigrants their rights.
