MISSIONS TO SEAMEN.

« The Missions to Seamen Institute was crowded to the doors last evening, when tho Bear-a-Hand Club (connected with the Mission) provided a successful concert. Mr. James Moore occupied the chair. The club glee party opened the programme with "Playing on the Old Banjo, and Mr. C. Colpus sang, with banjo accompaniment, "Soldiers in the Park. Miss M. Cunniugham contributed Ino ysnt ot Ages," and for an encoro sang ' Napoleon to Josephine." "The Land o' the Leal was rendered by Mr. Newton, and "Roses" as an encore. Miss Malcolm sang "In the Olden Time." Mr. Lewis Domb sang "Ship Ahoy" and "Brown Eves, and Miss Golway gave The Golway Cloak." "Genevieve" was given by Mr. Goss, "Davy Jones's Locker" by Mr. Millier, and Mr. Faulkner (s.s. Durham) played a pianoforto solo. Mr. C. ColpuS sang "Goo-Goo Eyes," and tho glee party closed tho programme with "Shine, Shine, Moon" and "Good Night." Miss Grey and Mr. W. Gardner played the accompaniments. Several popular choruses were sung by the audience, and an amusing ■ conundrum competition was won by sailors ftom ships in port. Mr. Mooro I gave a temperance address, and several men took'the pledge of total abstinence. 5 Hearty cheers were given to the perform- ! ers, Mr. .T. S. Cummings briefly respondt ing. Light refreshments wero dispensed.
