AN ALIENS BILL.
BRITISH OPPOSITION MEASURE.^ By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright [ London, March 21. Mr. E, A. Goulding, Unionist member for Worcester, will introduce in tho House of Commons an Aliens Bill. The 1 measure provides increased powers for tho expelling of convicted aliens, prohibits the carrying of weapons by aliens, i and makes their admission to Great. > Britain harder. , Last year 3637 aliens were added to tho ■ population of the United Kingdom, ac- . cording to an official return issued last , month. Other particulars in the return speak of tho efficacy of the Aliens Act. t Tho immigration officers stopped 1066 persons at the ports. Of these 432 appealed to the immigration boards, but only 144- > gained a reversal of the decision. The j final rejections therefore numberd 922. . Expulsion orders against criminals la*t , year numbered 459, against 519 in 1909. . The official figures, says the "Manchester [ Guardian," prove conclusively that tho alarm recently raised as to tho "invasion" of aliens is unwarranted. It is true that ' thousands of aliens land on our shores but it is trite also that almost tho same number leave.
