• SATURDAY'S RACES.' • The weather on Saturday was ideal for yacht racing, as." .serviceable wind from the north enabled the competing yachts and small fry to carry full sail. Owing to a' misunderstanding, the Port Nichol- , son Yacht Club's rac© for sccond-eiasa yachts was postponed. . Baces were got off by the To Aro Sailing Club and' the Cruising Club. ' Tho Cruising Club's race was won by Eholla (s'cr.), by.B minutes. \\lute Ilea- , ther (scr.) secured second .place, and Ko-. tiri (6min.) took third position. Ngaira did not start. During the past weekend the Cruising Club also ftot off a ; ladies' race; The course -was frtirt tho storting line to the Piritiaclc Buoy, and . then back to Ward Island. The raco ' was won by Ngairu (.10 juin.), with Uhona (scr.) second, and White Heather (scr.) . third. The first boat won by 4jmin. Kotiri (4min.) also started. The yachts Spent . the rest of the day. at Scorching Bay. Each lady who had (he tiller of a yacht received' a prize. . THE TE -AEO SAILING CLUB. ■ The To Aro Sailing Club "ocean" raoo on Saturday well contested, seven -boats crossing 'thMine. This race is held annually.by the club, and on Saturday, although thc'breeio was fairly freih, the little treats were able to carry full sail. _ The course sailed was .froiiij the Clydo Quay' AVharf to Jlalsvcll Buoy, then to Korokoro Buoy, and back, to the starting line. The race resulted in a" win for Nan (6min.),-„v;ith .Doreen HOmin.) 2, and Lofus : (2omiii.)-^. ; '.Xlso-st4rtcd: -Winifred (31min.), Valeta (ITinin.), Redwing (13min.), and .Kaitare (scr.). The finishing times for the boats were:—Nan, 4hr. 41min. 37sec.i Valeta, Shr. smin. 4i«oc.j Doreen, shr. 16min. 55ste.; Redwing, shr. 2min. 12sec.j Lotus, Shr. 2min. SSsec.; ICaitare, Shr.
