Tho Commercial Agent in tho East reports that 2G0,000 pounds of beef and 191,000 pounds of mutton will be required this year by the War Office in : India. Tenders are to be sent to the Quarter-Master-General in India before April 15. WEIGHT OF BEEF QUARTERS. London, March 17. The Secretary of Stato for War, Mr. Haldane, has issued a circular, through tho Director of Army Contracts. Tho circular announces;-that tho minimum weight of quarters of Australian beef supplied under tho present contracts has been reduced ,to 1651b. or 1301b. in tho. case of fore-quarters, without' flanks and briskets.
