V VARYING LABOUR VIEWS. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyrisht Sydnoy, March. 18. Mr. Griffith, 'New.■ South Wales Minister for Works, has broken the silence ho has maintained regarding the Federal Referenda. He has declared in favour of ultimate unification. Referring to the rumoured split in the Labour party over tho Referenda-, Mr. Griffith said there was no split. Mr. M'Gowen, Mr. Holman, and himself believed the Federal Parliament should be clothed with power to enforce the new protection, to nationalise monopolies, and. t' give uniform industrial conditions, but he thought the powers sought for were moro than were actually required to give effect to these principles. THE PROPOSALS DENOUNCED. Brisbane, March 18. The State Premier, Mr. Denham, in .a Bpeech, declared that thoso running tho Referenda were tho most intolerant people in the world. "They are," he said "asking us to destroy the Federal Constitution, which will topplo over our heads or give placo to unification."
