Mr. Eves, master of tho Woodlands Road School, has resigned his position. Mr. Eves has accepted a position in tho AYaipawa district. The Maharahara Athletic Socicty have dccidcd to hold their annual meeting at an oarly date. Tho wages offered by tho Borough Council, viz., 9s. per day, have not so far induced a great number of men to appl.v for work .on tho drainage. A few have tried tho work for several days and left, apparently considering that they can sccure better work in oilier parts. About 30 men are on liio job, but there is room for CO.
