Wedding at St. Pater's. < On Wednesday morning, March 15, a quiet wedding was celebrated at St. Peter's Church, Willis Street, Wellington, when Miss Ada Hannah Waters, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Waters, of Pimtea Street, Wellington, • was married to Mr. Harold Osborne Orsborn; of Wellington. The .Veil. Archdeacon Harper was the officiating minister. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a pretty dress of . cream silk taffeta, with 'the customary veil ?.nd Wreath • of orango blossoms, and carried a handsome bou-quet-of roses and asparagus ferns." The Bridesmaids were Miss Howartk and Miss Waters (sister of the bride), both of whom wore dresses of cream radiants and black picture hats with plumes, and carried bouquets of pink roses. Mr. D. Orsborn attended the bridegroom as best man, and Mr. N. J. Waters (brother of the bride) was groomsman. The bridegroom's present to the bride was a Nellie Stewart gold bangle, 'and to the bridesmaids we're given gold brooches set with emeralds, amythests, and _ pearls. The bride's mother, Mrs. Waters, wore black silk, with a bonnet to match. The mother of the bridegroom, Mrs. Orsborn; was in a green cloth costume, with black hat and feathers.' After the ceremoiiy a reception was held p.t Godber's rooms, , where the healths of the bride 'and bridegroom were honoured and hearty wishes for their happiness .expressed from many friends. Among those present were Mrs. Broad, Mrs. Doyle, Mrs. Everett, Mrs. Grierson,, with her, three little daughters, who were' prettily dressed in fl wlijte 7 mvslin, ;j w;ith bonnets to match, and white-slides, Mrs. Howarth, Mrs. H. Jackaj Mrs. 13. Osfaorno Orsborn, Miss Grierson, Miss Wilson. There were a large number of handsome .presents, including a beautiful silver epergno from the choir of the Thorndon Methodist Church, of which the bride was a member for several years. The bride .and bridegroom left y 11 0 ™ idd!i y. through train for the north. Tho bride's, travelling costume was of navy, blue cloth, with hat to match. Wedding at Palmerston. Our-Palmerston correspondent writes that a pretty wedding was celebrated it the -Cuba Street Methodist Church on, Wednesday, when Miss Elizabeth Maud Alsop, second daughter of Mr. A. Alsop, of AVhakaronga, Palmerston, was married to Mr. Frederick William Rickerby, of Christchurch. Tho Rev. T. T. , 8.A., was the officiating clergyman. Tho bride, who was given away by her father, wore a dress of white radianta trimmed with silk lace and braiding and tho customary veil and orange blossoms. She carried a beautiful shower bouquet, the gift of Mrs. H.. Portcous. There wero four bridesmaids attendmg her—Miss. Alsop, sister of tho bride; Miss Ivy Alsop, cousin; and the Misses Florence and Ruby Alsop. Jhe two. first-mentioned wore cream frocks trimmed with insertion and lace and wore black hats with pale bluo trimming. Miss Florence Alsop was in pale bluo with hat to match and Miss Ituby Alsop palo pink- frock trimmed with cream insertion arid hat en suite. Tho chief bridesmaid wore a gold band ring and tho other bridesmaids goki the gift of* the bridegroom. Mr. J. Cotton attended the bridegroom "c u ' Alsop, cousin of tho bride, as goomsman. Mr. H Porteous presided at tho organ and played tho Wedding March as tho bridal party left the church. A reception was afterwards held by the bride's parents at Dustin's,. where the usual toasts were honoured. The bride's travelling costume was a navy blue Russian tume and saxo blue hat. An Afternoon Toa. Yesterday afternoon Mrs. Knox Was ' tho hostess at a very, enjoyable tea ( given for Mrs. Harrison, of tho Hutt, , and for Mrs. Brist-ow, both of whom , leave, for. England shortly. Very pretty flowers were to be'seen , in tho drawing-room and. in the dining-room, where tea was served. Tho table was ' arranged with beautiful lavender-colour- : .fd asters and maidenhair, fern.. As : it Was such a hot day the verandah came greatly into requisition, and'the beautiful view of the harbour obtainable 'from it.was much admired. Mrs. Knox woro, a graceful dross of black rnri whito striped ninon. Mrs. Harrison was in,a black ninon frock, with a black hat; and .Mrs. Bristow in ,-v navy blue costume, and a navy bluo hat with tosos. Miss Knox, wearing a -white dress with palo blue, and Miss J. A Creytown Wedding. At tho Presbyterian Church on Thursday March 16, the wedding took place of Mr. Herbert Hendry, son of Mr. John Hendry, of Waimate, South Canterbury, and Miss Amy Katherine Hayes, second daughter of Mr. F. S. Hayes, an old and rcspected resident of Groytown. The Rev. Stowell officiated at the ceremony. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a tunic dress of cream silk eolienne, trimmed with lace and insertion, and the usual veil and orango blossoms. She carried a beautiful shower bouquet of wliito begonias and maidenhair fern. The bridesmaids were Miss Phocbo M'Nab, of Featherston, and Miss Ivy Manning, of Grcytown, who wore pretty frocks of bishop's lawn, trimmed with heliotrope ribbon and Valenciennes lace and insertion, and picture hats. They carried shower bouquets of heliotrope coloured asters and maidenhair fern. The bridegroom's gifts to the bridesmaids were a pretty.brooch and a gold neekJefc. Mr. Albert Hendry attended the bridegroom as best man, and Sir. E. Hayes as groomsman. A reception was afterwards held in the Oddfellows' Hall, a largo number of guests being present. Tho bride's travelling dress was a pretty tweed coat and skirt! and a green toque, trimmed with ospreys. On their return from tho south they will take up their residcncc near Stratford, in Taranaki.
R.N.Z.A. oanss at Feathemton. Tho Royal New Zealand Artillery, who have been stationed at the Tauherinikau Camp of Instruction, held a very : enjoyable dance in the Town Hall, Fcatherston, on Thursday, last. The hall was prettily decorated with flags and foliage, and all the arrangements wero in the hands of a committee from the artillery, as well as a ladies' committee composed of Fcatherston residents. Songs were contributed during the evening by Mr. Tinney, and by Gunners Stewart and Skinner.
