CRICKET.
PALMERSTON CEICKET. The Wednesday championship matches were continued this week in beautiful weather. In the Phoenix A v. High School match, the former put on 132 (O'Connor 62, Boon IS, Mellor 17). High School made no'stand, and were all disposed of for 61, Skelling being very destructive with the leather, taking five wickets for- 27 runs. In the Phoenix B v. Railway Club match the hitter knocked up 173, dishing 63, M'Vicar (not out) 54, Batt 21, Hickev 12. Phoenix B responded with 133 (M'Kenzio 71, Holland 40). Half the team made "ducks." Kattcrns took five wickets for 19 runs. A match between the Southern Hawke's Bay and Manawatu. Cricket Association has been arranged to be played at Sannevirke on March 25. Victoria' College junior team for Saturday:—Martin, Miller, Griffiths, , Broad, Mackay, Castle (2). Williams, Bruce, Rountreo, Burgess.
