ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
THE PICTON ACCIDENT. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) Picton, March 16. A man named Aageson, fireman on board the Clan Monzies, joking with his niatrs last evening, dived into the water from the slips, and struck tho bottom. He severely injured his neck, and died a few hours later. RIDING FATALITY. Wairoa, March 16. A boy aged fourteen, son of a Native, Chas. Smith, of Tahaemii, near Nuhaka, was killed by a fall from a hors-s last night. Tho boy and sister were both on. the horse and were thrown.. The girl was not seriously injured. MISHAP IN MANNERS STREET. AVhilo cycling in Manners Street yesterday, Miss Annie Sullivan came into collision with a butcher's cart, and was thrown to the ground. The bicyclo was crushed under tho cart, but tho cyclist escaped uninjured, save for a severe shaking. . ACCIDENT AT FEATHERSTON. Miss Constance Bryant, employed at *he vice-renal country residence at Featherston, was Admitted to the Wellington Hospital yesterday suffering with a broken leg, the result of an accident. .
