ir Fhe German Housewives* Society in New York has recently given 35 badges of honour to model domestic servants. >,Twoftt,y-nve; who had been in the same places'for over two years, were given gold bee brooches. Bight who had four-year records were given sold rings, and two ..who had rendered faithful service for "over six years to their mistresses were given gold*rings and a 10-dollar'gold piece each as well. There is a movement on foot in rural districts of the State to tako the hint given by tho society and to offer nrizes for model farm helps. This is done to a great extent in Great Britain, and has been productive of some very good results.
