GISBORNE CRIME SESSIONS.
4 (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) Gisborne, March 15. The Supreme Court criminal sessions concluded to-day. .las. Behash, charged wilh a_ serious offence, was found "Not. guilty." Albert Sweeney, found guilty of breaking, entering, and theft, received a sentence of two y?ars; John Lemmon, breaking, entering, and theft, 12 months; Samuel YVndsworth, receiving stolen properly, twelvo months. Wm. Third, who had pleaded guilty in Ihe Lower Court lo the theft of -Ell), was admitted to probation for three years, conditional on his paying Lis. weekly, and abstaining from intoxication and horse-racing. I'ua Babbinglon, a Alanri, was tried on lu-o charges of theft of cattle. He was placed on probation for four years, and ordered to pay .ES (value of the cattle), and .£2:> (costs of the prosecution) in monthly instalments 0!' 10s. On the second charge he was ordered lo come up for sentence when called upon. Ngararoa Xuku Nukii, arraigned on a charge nf ca-tle-<--was relfased on three years' probation, and ordered to pay XI (cost of cattle) and ~';20 (cost of prosecution) by monthly instalments of 10s.
