LIVE STOCK SALES.
Messrs. Abraham and Williams, Ltd.. report:—At our Palmerston North sale, held on March 16, wo had a. medium entry of both sheep and cattle, which owine; no doubt to the continued dry weather, were dull of sale. However, we managed to quit the bulk of our entry, and tho following prices were realised. We quote :-Shecp: Mixed ased ewe 3, 75.; culls. 3s. IM. to ss. 5tL; fat owes, 12s, 4d.; lambs,
forward, 95.; r.omncy rams, 2 guineas: Euplish Leicester Hams. -10a. to lCs. 6(1. Cattle: "iVeaners, 16s. 6t!. to 205.; store cows, 225. 6cl. to £2; dairy cows, to £6 15s. The Xcw Zealand Loa:: and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., Palmerston North, report as follows:—At Palmerston North on Thliiudav we had a eood entry of sheen, ami a fair yarding' of cattle. Sheep were in good demand, and sold freely at prices in favour of vendors, and we hove to report a total clearance. Cattle were inclined to drag, and several pens were at auction. The quality was hizli throughout, practically everything boms under 5 and 6 years old. (By Telegraph.-Press Association.) Invercarnilt, March 15. A.Va dispersal salo:(held to-day at Pine Bush by Messrs. 'Wright, Stephenson and Co) of Messrs. Carswell Bros.' herd of Shdrthorn cattle what is regarded as record' prices Sp: cows and calves for the South Island were secured. Coivs and. heifers averaged 17 guineas each; nine heifer calves averaged 131 guineas; ten bull calves averaged 135 guineas,.- Several sales were'made from'2l guineas to ■ 33 guineas for cows: One 'heifer calf made 21 guineas, and one bull calf 19 guineas. One bull also fetched 33 guineas. Horses made up to' 62 guineas for a Clvdesdale mare, by Lochringar and foal.
