MISSIONS TO SEAMEN.
. o • Tho Missions to Seamen Institute was crowded last evening, when the Mayor (Air. T. Jl. Wilford) and Mrs. Wiiiord provided a very enu-yaMe concert. Mr. .fumes Moore, the Missionor, occupied the chair. The following contributed items to tho programme:—Miss Miles, Mes-r----.Srevciif, E. I'ar&es, J. I{. Kobertson, and A. Newton. Messrs. M'Laugh.lll and Kobortscn acted as accompanists Mr. Brown gave a very clever exhibition ot paper-folding imitations. Several popvlar choruses were sung by those, present -\lv. Hobertfon playing the necompauiraents. During a short interval the MiEioner addressed the umiiencc on the temperance question. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded the host' and hostess and peVformers, Mrs. Wilford briefly responding. Light refreshments were afterwards dispensed. Mr. Moore took the opportunity of thanking Mr. Parkes (who is leaving for the Old Country) for his past kindness to the mission, mid, on behalf of the sailors, wiihed him godspeed and every success in his future career.
