ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL.

DIAMOND'S ANNUAL REPORT. It is stated iu the eighteenth annual report of Diamond Association Football Club (to be presented at the annual meetiuy to-morrow evening) that the past seasou was noticeable iroin the fact- that the club, for the first tiuio ior many years, failed to win any of Hie competitions. The first division team wero rumiers-up for both the champiouship nnd Charity Uup, iu tiie former competition they being only 1 point behind' tlie winners. The 'second.division team did fairly well, considering they were unable to take the lieltl with a full team each Saturday, and the third division team, in gaining third place in their championship, performed creditably. Though, the club was unable to enter teams in tho lower grades, it is hoped that every endeavour will be made to have tho club represented in all directions. Senior representative honours were gained by Messrs. W. Roberts, ,T. Reddy, and W. J. Taylor. Mr. 11. S. Bernard, one of the club's vice-presidents, who, for the greater part of last season, was incapacitated by illness, has now recovered and hopes are entertained that the club will again be enabled to have his active support. Tl/o annual Easter trip was made to Hastings, where those -members who were fortunate enough.,to make the tour thoroughly- enjoyed themselves. The match, which was played against the Hastings United Club, resulted in a win for Diamonds by 2 goals to 1. It. may be of interest to members to know that the club has never yet sustained a defeat while on tour. Mr. E. A. Anderson, who has been a prominent member and supporter of the. club since its inception, is about to leave Wellington. It is to be regretted that the club is losing such a valuable member. The thanks of the club are due to, the president, .Mr.. R. 11.. •Davenport, and the various vice-presi-dents for their personal and financial-as-sistance.
