Anthrax, introduced to farm stock in Great Britain through tho medium of foreign commodities which might contain'the spores of the disease, was a subject mentioned at a recent meeting' of tho K.A.S.T;. The Board of Agriculture were'reported to ho assisting the latter body in the solution of the question, and it is the opinion of the Government Department that this might bo done, so far as skins, wool, and other such substances were concerned, by tho discovery of a simple and effective method of disinfecting those hides and skins, before they were embarked iu foreign countries', in a manner which would in no way injure the articles far industrial purposes. Tho matter of disinfection was at the moment tho subject of investigation and experiment. Hut Iho mutter is by no means settled yet.
