ALLEGED OPERATIONS IN' BRAZIL
News by the mail states that a proclamation lias been issued, by tho President of : Brazil giving authority and concessions to an Amprican company seeking to do 'business in cattle and meat' in that country, and it is anticipated that within six months refrigerated meat from Brazil will be on sale in American markets.
"It is not surprising to learn," says an English paper, "that there is ' a surmise to tho effect that tho company referred to is a branch of tho great meat packing combination, which was reported sorno timo ago to be seeking an opening in other parts of South America than Argentina, where it has already obtained a strong footing."
