EGG-LAYING COMPETITION.
FORTY-FIFTH WEEK. Three weeks from the end of the Papanui Egg-laying Competition AY. O. Sail's white Leghorns havo a lead of thirty-two. Sail's score for the week (32) was the best in the contest. The next best was Bangiuru (30). Tho collections fell off heavily; enly 958 eggs wore recorded for the week. Tho total is.now/61,812. -Following Sail and Ran'giuru is G. H. Bradford, W. The whole of the pens only produced 22 egjs, of which number 17 were laid by one pen (Mrs. T. M. Lucy's). Another pen laid three and another two. Nino pens scored nil. Tho grand total is now 9065. W. Knight's No. 1 pen .of Indian Runners is still in the. lead witli over a hundred to spare.
