HERETAUNGA BOATING CLUB.

' The Heretaunga Boating Club sailed off the first of a series of three races for the B class'for the ThoradOn Dinghy Sailing Club's challengo cup last Saturday afternoon. Five boats u;erc sent away at 3 p.m., namely, Margucrita (scratch), Euna (lmin.), Gil Bias (Sniin.), Hinau (7min.), and Waiiti (llmin.). From a good start Margncrita slowly forged ahead, and won very comfortably, increasing her distance all the time. The wind, which was fairly steady at the start, gradually died away towards the finish, and the race was a very uninteresting one, finishing in practically a drift. Times: Marguerita, lhr. Ssrain.. 30sec.; Kuna, lhr. Wmin. ssec.j Binau, lhr. 15min.; Gil Bias, lhr. 52min. lOsec; Waiiti, retired.
