March 12. 5.5 p.m.) Adelaide, March 12, The match between tho South African cricketers and tho South Australian eleven was resumed to-day in warm weather, and with a perfect wicket. Tho attendance was estimated at 5000. • South Africa, in their first innings lost the first four wickets for 53 runs, and eight wickets were down with tho score at 180, the innings closing for 292. The South Africans continued their innings, Zulck and Faulkner facing tho bowling of Whitty and Rocs. Whitty, in his second over, bowled Zulch, tho South African score then standing at four wickets for 38 runs. Nourse, when he had made 7, was badly missed in tho slips by Wright, off Recs. Faulkner, at 25, was dropped by tho ■wicket-keeper off Rees. In tho next over he was caught by the third man through ii bad stroke, tho scoro standing at fivfl wickets for 70 runs. ' Snooke and Nourse now becntno aggressive, and put on 91. Whitty bowled Nourse for 40. Six wickets for 104. . Snooko was caught by Whitty off Recs two runs later, after a chanceless innings for 55. Schwarz followed, and was caught in the long field off Rees, after ho had made 12. Eight wickets for 185. Sinclair was dismissed similarly—nin» for 200. Llewellyn and Sherwell, by sound gallery hitting, added 92 to the total for ! tho last wicket. Sherwell was unoon-, qucred with 4G to his credit. Llewellyn was bowled by Mayno in his first over, after ho had made 48. In the South Australian's second innings the first three wickets—Mayne, Dolling, and Gehrs— fell for 20. Clem Hill hooked a ball into Llewellyn's hands at short leg, after ho had put on 8. Four wickets for 36. Roy Hill and Crawford wiped out the deficit in 41 minutes. Nobody but Crawford could do anything, and tho innings was closed for 100. Crawford was linconquered with a score of 40. The South Africans want 49 to win.
