METHODISM V. TRADES UNIONISM. By Telenvarli—Press Association-Copyright. Sydnoyi March 10. The Methodist Conference resolved to appoint a committee to collect and study social facts, with tho objcct of educating public opinion in tho direction of a social order which shall express the ideals and spirit of Christianity. The Rev. Sir. Bcale, the mover of tho resolutions, declared that the Church showed indifference to most public questions. If the Church had done its duty to the working classes it would not have been necessary for them to turn to tho trades unions and other organisations for relief. Ho strongly condemned tho inculcating of the spirit of militarism in the children.
