LIVE STOCK SALES.

Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having held their usual weekly aale at bitetaiiuna on Friday. Wo liaa an exceptionally heavy yarning of sheep, but bidding under the nammer was slack except for sheep ot good quality, which sold well. We have to report a total clearance with tho exception of one pen of lambs. We quote: Sheep: Two-tooth wethers (poor), l'rom 9s. 3d. to lis. 7d.; ewes, on account of Mr. A. Clapham, <uu mixed ages, at 11a. 6dl; 50 do., at 10s.; 200 do., at 7s. 4d. to "s. 9d,; woolly lamb:!, 7s. 9d. to 10s. 7d.; cull ditto, 3s. 6d. to ss. 7d.; f.m, ewes, 4s. 6d., ss. 3d., ss. 7d., ss. lid., 6s. 7d., to Bs. Messrs. Dalgety and Co. report: At the »averley sale yesterday wo yarded 40C0 sheep and 216 cattle. We have to report a dull sale for all sheep with tho exception of lambs, which met, with a ready sale at tho advance in prices that has been ruling recently. All other classes, particularly agoil ewes, were difficult to quit, and tho bulk of the yarding was passed at auction. Cattlo met with a, fair sale, and though several line 6 wero passed at auction, we eventually quitted all except six of those yarded . Altogether we sold upwards of 21Q0 sheep and 210 cattle. The report states:—Wo yarded over 5000 sheep, and sold the greater portion of them under tile hammer. Very few sheep went out unsold by the end of tho day. Buyere were present from tho Waii'arapa, Palmcrston, and all over the district. We quote: On account of tho Government Experiment Farm, 131 two-tootli ewes, toMessrs.
