(By TclccraDh-Pross Association.) Auckland, March 10/ A conference of Auckland Provincial Athletic Societies was held this evening, to discuss the athletic affairs of the province. Mr. T. P. Gilfedder, who presided, traversed the formation and career of tho various governing bodies throughout the Dominion for the past twelve years, and strongly urged the formation of a centre under the New Zealand Athletic and Cycling Union, This evoked considerable discussion, but ultimately it was carried unani- • mously. The following executive was elected President, Mr. Gilfedder; vice-presidents, Messrs. Bain (Raagiriri), and Woolley (Auckland); secretary, Mr. J. H. Trinnear; auditor, Mr. -Kemp (Mauku) • committee, Messrs. Lush (Te Kuiti), Rao (Helensville), Partington (Onehunga); handicappers: athletic, Mr. Burbush, cycling Messrs. Sutherland and Fielder.
