Mix tho suet, flour, and a pinch'of .salt togethor; make a well and mix.,to a' stiff paste with cold water; turn on'to 3 floured board, work out the. cracks and roll out J-incli thick. Line a w;olI-greased pudding-basin with thjs, trim the .edges. Peel, slice, and core-the apples; fill the basin, adding some : cloves • and - sufficient sugar to sweeten.' Cover .with' the rest of the Crust;, cover with. a pudding cloth; 'tie down tjchtly, plunge into boiling water, and'boil' for .'two'hours. - ' '; : SUNDAY. Tomato soup.
