BIBLE IN SCHOOLS.
A VOTE OF PARENTS. (fly Tclocrapn.-Press Association.! Christchurch, March 9. The East Christchurch School Commit, lea recently look a vote of parents on tlio question whether or not they wished their children to attend Bible lessons, and 6eut out 1200, voting papers, 923 being returned in favour of the proposal. To-night a conference was held between the fchool comnnftco and the Ministers' Association as to the best method to bo adopted. Bishop Julius spoke iu support of tho proposal, and said his own ckrgy would be ready to give what help was nsked of mem. Other ministers thought that (hetime proposed, from 3.30 to i p.m. on Fridays, was not the most suitable, as the children would bo looking forward to the holiday after the week's work. Several teachers concurred in this view, aild the meeting adjourned to allow the Ministers Association to confer and decide on a suitable time for the lesson.
