Mr. William O'Brien, Independent Nationalist member for Cork, declared that the Budget of 1909 was a most formidable obstacle to Home Rule. The peasant proprietors of Ireland were complaining of tho double 6tamp duties, and the extraordinary doctrines of. land nationalisation favoured by Mr. Lloyd-George Were causing alarm.
