SHODDY BOOTS.
MR.T.E. TAYLOR'S ALLEGATIONS. Mr. T. E. Taylor's recent allegations in regard to shoddy boots being manufactured in New Zealand were briclly discussed at tho mooting of the Wellington Provincial Industrial .Association last evening. Correspondence was received from the CuiiU'ibiirj ln<Uistn:ii Association suggest ing that tin; Wellington Association should take Hie malter up, and statin;; that Mr. Taylor w.is prepared to meet a sub-comniillce of the association in Wellington, and if necessary co bring witto prove that his statements about shoddy material were coircct. The secretary (Mr. H. P. Allen) quoted a statement by Mr. Brunskill which appeared in Tun Dominion, and also read a letter fr.im Mr. I!. Mr. Sealon: Kven though he could show tint they were bought here* or manufactured liel-e. could wo do anylhing? Mr. I'orrigan: if you imd the man who put: imitation leather in his boot*, what can you do—shoot him, or hang him, or Mr. Ballinger thought it would be well lo conduct a" investigation in the interest's of honest Ir.ulers.
