A MINISTERIAL . STATEMENT. | By Telegraph—Press A«noclntlon-Copyr!ehL (Rec. March G, 10.50 p.m.) Paris, March 0. The new Prime Minister, 31. Monis, has issued a Ministerial statement, in which he points out.that a majority of the railway strikers have been reinstated in their position excepting those convicted of sabotage (wanton destruction of property), and those, persisting in an insubordinate, and anarchical attitude. The Government will ask the railway companies to follow the State's example in' the interest of social pacification. The statement also foreshadows the enforcement and reform of the secularisation
The Government desires a pacific policy abroad, based on existing agreements and the, security offered by the Army's everincreasing strength.
SARCASTIC COMMENT. Paris, March 5. The "Journal des Debats," referring to the political ""■ situation, says that M. Combes (who,- headed the anti-clerical Cabinet of 1902-5) is honorary president, and M. Jaures (the Socialist leader) impresario to the Government'.
