HIGH-POWER WIRELESS.
PROPOSED STATION AT AUCKLAND. (By Telcirrapb-Speclal Correspondent.! Auckland, March.G. "I hope to be able to arrange for the high-power wireless telegraphy station proposed -to be established at Doubtless lias 1° ' lfv erected in Auckland," said tho Prime Minister (Sir Joseph Ward) when interviewed last evening. "I cannot mako a definite statement about it yet, as I want to have an opportunity' of getiing the wireless engineer's opinion upon the matter. Jt is quite evident, as a result of tho work that has l>een already dene by the experimental station we have upon the top of the Post Office Buildings in Wellington; that a higjtpower .station established in Auckland, mile-;} there are somo engineering difficulties of which J am nut aware, will be able to communicate with Sydney and Fiji, and other distant place's without any difficulty. There would bo a considerable advantage from a workin" point of view to have tho high-power station near listing electrical motive power, which would mean a considerable saving in the actual working of the station, and that is a very necessary point to consider in dealing with an important matter of that kind,"
