Sir Newton Moore when in the United Kinedoin some time ago gave notice to the holders of 4 per cent, inscribed stock, of the amount of £1,876,C00, that ho intended to convert the issue into 3i per cent, stock in April next. Tho Frozen Meat Trade Association's Sniithfiold market ciuotatious for the undermentioned classes of frozen meat are based on actual sales of not less than one hundred carcasses of mutton or lamb, and twenty-five quarters of beef of fair average finality. Tho quotations are not for selected lines, but for parcels fairly representative of the bulk of tho shipments now on the market. Ltd., of Feilding, report that at their weekly sale on Friday they sold a good large penning of poultry at current rates. The birds offering were, as usual, anythine but finished sorts. Pigs met no keen demand, attention only being given to porkers, and, of these, very little of quality was offered. Of fruit and produce there was a very large quantity forward. Peaches of coed | round quality forward at ss. 6d. .to 6s. ' per case. Prime tomatoes met with keen' demand, and every case forward was sold. Good table potatoes were scarce.
