GOVERNMENT MONOPOLY IN BRAZIL LARGE ORDERS FOR SOUTH AMERICA. By Xelceraph-Pross Associalion-Copyrtßht (Rec/ March 5, 5.5 p.m.) • Berlin, March 4, Brazil is making wireless telegraphy a Government monopoly, and the German Telefunken Company has been commissioned to erect six stations. Tho Marconi Company's application for a concession has been rejected, although it offered the Government, beside lower rates, 50 per cent, of the gross earnings. Argentina, Peru, Chile, and Uruguay are also taking the same steps, and have ordered a number of Telefunken stations. Argentina' 9 seven stations will cover tho entire coastline.
