It has been decided by tho Govern-, tnent to oiler a bonus for an, improved of trsating New Zealand hemp, iho machine foi which the bonus is claimed must bo approved and agreed J'pon by the flaxmillers of 'the Dominion, and must also be approved by tho Government;; The bonus ,will bo up to £12,000. ' It will be necessary', to navo proof beyond all question that tho machine • will creato a sufficient improvement in the treatment of hemp to enable it to bo sold at a higher price than at present.
