Th6rhdon l ',gQal;kc«fler;\,KirkH-ood, robbed r the - game- of' much valuable ; time. Out'of tho U minutes', play, it 'can be said that Kirkwood held, tho ball for at least six • minutes, ns none of tho Swifts men would tackle liiiri. That would have left a Thorndon man unmarked—a thing that they were particularly careful not to do. ICirkwood was undoubtedly right in not parting with the ball as a draw meant the championship for his side, but it was hardly playing the game. Swifts' captain should have had him .iackled, for a loss to his side was as good as a draw, as Swifts were more, than holding their own, and might hdv'e scored a win. Healy, of Thorndon, easily gave the best exposition of the game, completely outclassing Freyberg, who was altogether too slow and awkward. Tho .Toukinson brothers wero tho best of the Swifts team. _ - In the junior grade, tho Swifts and Wellington "15" team collided, and, after a very even game, the Wellington team won by two goals to one. _ The juniors gav,' a much-improved exhibition to the games of the juvvioiis Saturday. ■
