SUMMARY -AND. FOKECAST. Variable winds have prevailed, easterly predominating: in the north and northerly and westerly iu. the South Island. The weather has been warm and hazy generally, but unsettled in parts, especially about. Foveaux Strait, where showers have fa.llon at times. The barometer has fallen, but rose slightly in the far south to-day. Prcßjojit-. indications arc for an unsteady barometer, but rising everywhere shortly! l,l Kasterly winds are probable in the nOrtli, and; variable elsewhere, but changing;,to rotH.hcrly after about sixteen hours, moderate to strong generally.
