AN AUSTRALIAN CONFERENCE. ' By Teltzranh-Press Association—CoDyrlgSt Melbourne, March 1. The Inter-State Conference on Tuberculosis has opened. It was decided that, compulsory notification should bo the first, step in combating tho disease, and that doctors attending cases should notify the health authorities. The conference is sitting in camera.
' WIDER POWERS .NEEDED. (Rec. March 2, 0.45 a.m.) Melbourne, March 1. The Tuberculosis Conference . has recommended tho Stale Governments to give tho local,, authorities power to remove dangerous cases to institutions where they will be properly treated; also that tho Boards of Health be given power to deal with neglected cases. Another resolution recommended that the Commonwealth Government should prohibit the entrance of consumptives.
