The Argentine Government recently sold an isolated section of railway connecting the Central Argentine and Pacific Hallways, and set aside tho .£2,300,000 received as the purchase price to provide irrigation works in the provinces of San Juan, La Roja, Catamarca, Santiago del Jistero, Saltii, and Jujuy.
