LAST YEAR'S CONFERENCE. SECRECY TO BE MAINTAINED. (Rec. February 28, 10.10 p.m.) London, February 28. In the House of Commons, Mr. Asquith informed Mr. Harry Lawson, Unionist member for Milo End, that all the members of the Veto Conference concurred in the decision that there should be no public disclosure of the proceedings. He was neither empowered nor disposed to go back upon that decision. "The Times," in commenting upon Mr. Asquith's statements, declares that the Unionist leaders concurred in tho decision at the express wish of tho Liberal leaders, • and against their own desire. The Liberal leaders opposing tho request for an official ' Statement argued that if silence was observed regarding tho proceedings of the Conference, tho method could bo kept alive for future use if a resort thereto was desired.
