In tho Magistrate's Court this morning, finger-prints played an important part in reversing a decision in a case against Hi Hing, a Chinese lanndryman, who was a few days ago fined ss. for employing a bov under the ago of Iβ without a permit. Mr. A. E. Skelton applied for a rehearing, on' the ground of a misunderstanding about the time for '.aking tho case. Tliis morning further proceeding showed that £100 poll tax was paid nn the boy two and a half years ago, and he wav then 14. Thumb prints taken at the time corresponded with those made by the boy in , cnurt, and as the magistrate was fatisfird that be, wns the same boy, and nni't tliereforo now be 10J years of age, the caw was dismissed.
