• ■ -e—. • . TRAIN FALLS INTO A RAVINE. By Tclecraph—Press Association—Coojrrisht Valparaiso, February 24. A train was derailed- on a bridge and precipitated into a ravine near the 'Braden' copper mines in the province of O'Higgins, Chile. Fifty persons were killed or injured, MANY BURNED TO DEATH. (Rec. February 2G, 5.5 p.m.) Ottawa, February 25. A train has been wrecked near the village of New Germany, a German settlement on the 'Halifax and South-Western Railway. " The cars took fire, and many persons were burned to death. Another was fatally crushed, and five were injured. Two of tho cars fell over an embankment. TWO WORKMEN KILLED. (Rec. February 27, 0.50 a.m.) Brisbane, February 2G. A ballast train at Blackbutt station struck a staging on which a number of men were working, knocking it down. Two trucks were derailed, and two men, Thomas Lovo and Daniel M'Douald, were killed.
