Pplmerston, February 24. The Rev. Mr. Mason, tho water finder, of Otahnliu,. Auckland, is expected'in Palmerston shortly. Tho recent dry weather has seriously brought-liome to farmers tho necessity of having good supplies for their stock, and several Kelvin Grovo farmers have clubbcd together to pay tho- Rev. It is understood • that Mr. Frank Mason, of Whakarongo, lias also developed the faculty of water finding, whilst it is said that another settler in that district has the faculty still more sensitivoly developed. A' beautiful little oil launch, built by Mr. Bauckbam, of Ashhurst, to tho order of Messrs. Dawick Bros., of Palmerston, has been added to tho pleasure boats at Foxton beach. Tho craft, which is fitted with a six horse-power engine, and has given tho utmost satisfaction in her trial, has been christened Moana. Sho will carry from a dozen to fifteen passengers, and only draws eighteen inches.

Superintendent Hugo, inspector of Fire Brigades,, paid an official visit'to l'almerston yesterday, and it is stated, found everything in good, order.
